Nonstop service from Houston starts January 9, 2019 and operates Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Mazatlán Tourism Board announced today the launch of United Airlines seasonal service from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Mazatlán’s General Rafael Buelna International Airport starting January 9, 2019 and continuing through March 30, 2019. The service will operate Wednesday and Saturday and use an ERJ-175 aircraft with a southbound flying time of 2 hours and 32 minutes and 2 hours and 19 minutes northbound.
“We are very excited to have United Airlines again offering nonstop service from Houston, TX, to Mazatlán,” said Marco Garcia Castro, Secretary of Tourism for the State. “This seasonal route will provide visitors to Mazatlán more choice and convenience to travel to our great destination especially considering Houston is a major hub for connections from other United gateways,” he added.
United Airlines is a unit of United Continental Holdings (NYSE: UAL).
Mazatlán is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific Ocean. Founded in 1571, its Historic District, 19th-century landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Ángela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception Basilica. Sandy beaches line its four-mile-long malecón (boardwalk), the newly developed Nuevo Mazatlán area where two marinas and two professional golf courses sit, and the modern district of Zona Dorada which is known for nightlife and hotels to suit any budget. Old villages with their unique charm such as El Quelite, Concordia, Copala and El Rosario surround Mazatlán, and guided tours are available from all hotels.
