El Quelite Tour
El Quelite is one of those beautiful Mexican towns where it feels as though you’ve gone back in time. This peaceful place, located just 25 miles from downtown Mazatlán, has maintained its traditional charm for centuries. The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at El Quelite is its colorful colonial-style houses with red roof tiles; these constructions are still made of adobe bricks, a material formed with sun-dried earth and straw.
As you go through El Quelite’s cobblestone streets, you’ll be welcomed by the blooming bougainvillea, flowers of different shades of fuscia, found almost everywhere. Exploring every corner of this charming town is highly encouraged, where you’ll encounter the Quelite River, a traditional bakery, a cheese factory, and the impressive ranch where cockfight roosters are bred and trained.
